MSI today presented two new laptops, the X460 and X460DX. These laptops are the latest additions to MSI’s X-Slim series which features under an inch thick and come with a metal alloy chassis with an ‘aerodynamic feather pattern’, a chiclet keyboard and a 14-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display. Both are based on Intel’s Huron River mobile platform, run Windows 7 and support for the Intel Wireless Display technology.
The MSI X460 and X460DX boasts a 2.0 GHz Core i5-2410M or 2.3 GHz Core i7-2630QM processor, integrated Intel HD 3000 (X460) or Nvidia GeForce GT 540M card with 1GB of dedicated memory (X460DX), DDR3 memory, up to a 750GB hard drive, a DVD writer, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a 4-in-1 card reader, two USB 3.0 ports, THX TruStudio Pro audio, D-Sub and HDMI outputs, and a 6-cell battery enabling up to 8 hours of operation per charge. Acer unveils its new 14.1-inch ultra-thin laptop at the Computex event namely The TravelMate 8481. This laptop is powered by Intel Core i7 processor with 4GB DDR3 memory and NVIDIA GeForce GT520M graphics. Another features include 14.1-inch widescreen display (1366×768), 320GB hard drive, 1.3MP webcam, USB 3.0, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI and up to 13 hours of battery life.

Recently, this laptop maker has introduced new G series laptop that is powered by Sandy Bridge processor and DirectX 11 discrete graphic card: The MSI GX780. Both MSI’s new laptops come with few similarities and several differences, especially in dimension, measurement, and hard disk storage as well. Both are powered with the same mobile platform, that is, Intel’s Huron River. This mobile platform is a part of Sandy Bridge processor.
MSI CX640 and CR640 are 15.6-inch laptops that are running Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) as the operating system. These laptops are said to weight at 2.6kg, and come with black (CR640) and silver (CX640) metal-brushed finish. To keep users’ hands from heat, The laptops are based on thermal block structural design. Inside the chassis, there is a 500GB hard drive that is equipped with Fast Boot Technology.
