Sony has just announced a new e-book reader called the Reader WiFi (model PRS-T1). Boasts a 6-inch glare-free E-Ink Pearl V220 touchscreen, a battery life of over one month, 2GB of storage capacity, WiFi support and supports EPUB, PDF and TXT file.
Sony Reader WiFi has 12 pre-installed dictionaries which is set to provide easy access to the public library system in the US and Canada. This e-reader should be available on October with recommended price tag of $149.
After being introduced several months ago, now Asus first Eee digital notepad “Eee Note EA800 digital notepad” is introduced to European market. The company has stated that the device is digital notepad which combines characteristics from e-reader devices with great features of data and operation input. The main function of the device is used for reading. The display screen comes within the size of 8-inch with grayscale color display, along with 2540dpi sharpness and accuracy intended for pen input.
The digital notepad is coming to Italian stores now and soon predicted to reach other European countries. The digital notepad’s official name is Eee Note EA800 with whole dimension of 139 x 224 x 11mm and 520grams in weight. It also has internal built in storage capacity up to 4GB. The notepad has additional card slot for microSD card, camera 2megapixels, WiFi connectivity, a port of USB, and a speaker. It can last for about 13.5 hours of operation. The device also supports .pdf and ePub formats and equipped with two styluses. In Europe it’s available for the price of €259.
Barnes & Noble has released another e-book reader called NOOKcolor for $249. Featuring a 7-inch IPS touchscreen display at 1024 x 600 resolution, the Barnes & Noble NOOKcolor also built-in music player, Wi-Fi, allowing you to surf the web, check your email and read a favorite blog and comes with Google Android operating system and a web browser.
Acer ready to release its new eBook reader, the Acer LumiRead on October 2010 in Germany. Acer LumiRead supports a 6-inch 800 x 600 pixel E-ink display, Wi-Fi, 3G wireless and a Barnes & Noble content partnership. The exact price has not actually been disclosed by Acer, but the rumor implies that it will be along the lines of 250 Euro or around $316.
