Sharp to release their latest ultra slim 3D Blu-ray recorder called Aquos BD-AV07. The BD recorder measures at 35mm thick, it supports BD-RE, BD-R, BD XL disks, Japanese VOD internet services and comes with a digital TV tuner. Sharp Aquos BD-AV07 will be released on December for around 85,000 Yen or about $1,047.

Sony Debuts Their First Slim External Blu-ray Drive, the BDX-S500U that supports writing on BD-R (6x), BD-R DL (4x), and BD-RE (2x) discs. The portable drive offers quick and easy connectivity with a high speed USB (USB 2.0) digital interface for simple setup and maximum flexibility. It can record up to 50GB of data for random access storage and backup on BD-R (write once) or BD-RE (rewritable) discs, or up to 220 minutes of high-definition 24M bps MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video on a BD-R/RE 50GB disc.

Sony BDX-S500U also records standard 4.7GB DVD+/-R discs at up to 8X speeds, 8.5GB DVD+/-R Double/Dual layer at up to 4X, DVD+RW at up to 8X, DVD-RW at up to 6X, CD-R at up to 24X, CD-RW at up to 16X, and supports DVD-RAM recording at up to 5X speeds. The Sony BDX-S500U available at retail this month for around US$200, it comes bundled with the Media Suite 8 software from Cyberlink for authoring, editing, data writing and back up.

Sony has announced its new slimmest Blu-ray Player, the Sony BDP-S370 in Japan. The player measuring at just 36mm and is now 50% faster to load blu-ray than before compare to previous Sony Players.

The Sony BDP-S370 offers the usual DVD upscaling feature and an Android/ iPhone remote control. This Blu-ray player can also play different media file such as MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4-AVC, VC1, WMV, AVCHD and LPCM, MP3, AAC, WMA stored on a DVD/CD or a USB flash drive. Sony BDP-S370 will be sold in Japan early September at around 25,000 Yen ($290).
