The desire to make their own market to support their one million customers is running strong in the makers of CyanogenMod. This ROM ( Read Only Memory ) has plenty of supporters and now seems ready to grow into a supportive marketplace. The new app store is likely to include all the goodies that will allow a jailbroken Android smartphone to act just like one that is locked into the Google system. The latest news from Google is that if a person has a Gmail account and wants to use it, it will also be tied together with the Android smartphone. As some have called it, this new policy from Google will make Gmail part of the “mother of all behavioral profiles”. Not everyone wants to be a part of that profiling.

Avoid Becoming A Marketing Target

The CyanogenMod will allow an Android lover to use their smartphone and not be a “marketing target”. It is for sure that “Carrier IQ” will not be found in this ROM. Some things that will likely be offered in the CyanogenMod app store are programs that the carriers do not approve of. Apps that allow the smartphone to act as a tether are not always liked by cell phone companies. This is likely going to be found in this new app store.

Games Will Definitely Be A Part Of This Store

Game console emulators are programs that look just like the real game. The CyanogenMod app store is likely to have some of these in their upcoming app store. Atari games may or may not be seen in their store because the legality of emulators is somewhat of a legal issue. The CyanogenMod have stated that only legal apps will be in their store. Do not expect to see apps in their store that have been removed from the Google Android marketplace for security reasons. They will not be there.

Amazon Turns Down The CyanogenMod Group

The choice to create their own CyanogenMod Android app store was made after talks with Amazon dot com. Amazon dot com was given the chance to host these apps for jailbroken smartphones. The deal fell through and now the project is on as their own creation. A recent screenshot of the current work shows that this new Android app store will be seeing a lot more work before it will become available to the public.
